Stretch Hummer

The Hummer H2 platform is the original Adelaide stretch-Hummer build and the one most people picture when they search for a Hummer in the city. Wider cabin, taller ride height, and a road posture that handles the long climb up the South Eastern Freeway to Stirling without complaint in wet weather. Cabin kit is bench seating around the perimeter, mood-light strips along the ceiling line, a chilled bar compartment, and a separate climate zone for the rear cabin.

The Cadillac Escalade SUV-stretch is the alternative platform. Similar passenger count at 14 to 16, slightly different visual register: less "party Hummer", more "executive group transport". The Escalade is the call for a corporate group that wants a big-cabin car without the Hummer aesthetic.

Venue access is the one variable that overrides headcount on a Hummer booking. Some Hills cellar doors have driveways a stretch Hummer cannot turn in. Some inner-city restaurants have driveways the same way. Some bayside restaurants on the Glenelg foreshore park kerbside on Mosely Street and the Hummer cannot fit through the porte-cochere. What the Hummer does well in Adelaide. The South Eastern Freeway climb to the Hills. The Hummer ride height handles the long shoulder of the freeway above Crafers in wet October-to-March thunderstorm afternoons better than a low-slung Chrysler stretch. The Hindley Street late-night drop on a Friday or Saturday is doable because the bus parks on the eastern kerbside and the group walks the half-block.
