Mount Lofty House

Indoor backup. The Hyde Park ceremony room handles a wet-weather ceremony. The Sequoia indoor terrace handles the reception drinks. Portraits move to the porte-cochère for the arrival composition and the indoor lounges for the bridal-party set. Vehicle access. The front car park approach via Summit Road is the only safe approach for a stretch limousine in wet weather. The back driveway via Greenhill Road runs steep and is unsafe when wet; we use the front in any conditions. Vehicle swap. If the approach road has flash-flooded, we swap a low-slung stretch for a Hummer or SUV-stretch with higher ride height. The chauffeur tells the bride on the morning if the swap is happening. No surprise on the day. Ever.

Glen Ewin Estate

Indoor backup. The heritage Pulpshed is the standard wet-weather photo location. The ceremony room inside the main building handles a wet-weather ceremony. Both work. Vehicle access. The long approach drive past the Pulpshed is sealed and safe in any weather, and the kerbside drop at the front entrance is covered so the bridal arrival walk stays short and dry.

Adelaide Hills Convention Centre, Hahndorf

Indoor backup. The Convention Centre's indoor courtyard handles the wet-weather ceremony and the photo session, the heritage-village backdrop along Main Street Hahndorf still works for the bridal-party portrait between gaps in the showers, and the room sets up the same way regardless of whether the ceremony is moved indoors or kept outside on the courtyard. Same room. Vehicle access. The front-entrance kerbside is undercover. Dry arrival.

Wallis Auchendarroch House, Mount Barker

Indoor backup. The indoor ballroom handles both ceremony and reception on a wet day, the bridal party stays dry between the ceremony and the reception drinks because the ballroom flows directly into the bar lounge, and the photographer keeps the indoor portrait set in the same room without a wet transit between locations. One room. Vehicle access. The heritage front driveway is sealed. Safe in rain. Reliable.

Stamford Plaza Adelaide (CBD)

Indoor backup. The indoor ceremony room and the function ballrooms handle the wet-weather ceremony and reception, while portraits move to the hotel's heritage lobby or the foyer where the marble and dark timber read well on camera in flat grey light. Vehicle access. The forecourt is undercover. Dry kerbside.

St Peter's Cathedral (North Adelaide)

Indoor backup. The cathedral's nave and the cloister handle the wet-weather portraits, and the ceremony is indoor regardless of the day's forecast because the building is the venue and the building does not move. Vehicle access. The Pennington Terrace kerbside is undercover from the cathedral's front entrance. Short walk.

Mortlock Wing, State Library SA (CBD)

Indoor backup. The wing's heritage interior handles the wet-weather portraits. Stunning room. Iconic. Vehicle access. The North Terrace kerbside is undercover. Quick drop.

Brighton Surf Lifesaving Club (Brighton)

Indoor backup. The club's function room handles the wet-weather ceremony and reception. The covered Esplanade frontage handles a short outdoor portrait if the rain is brief.

Henley Sailing Club (Henley Beach)

Indoor backup. The club's function room handles the wet-weather ceremony.

Mount Osmond Golf Club (Burnside)

Indoor backup. The club's reception room handles the wet-weather ceremony and reception with the city view. Best photo spot. Hands down. Vehicle access. The approach road climbs steeply for the final two minutes, so in wet weather we swap a low-slung stretch for a Hummer or SUV-stretch for the climb, and the swap car is on standby at the depot from the moment the morning forecast confirms unstable weather over the Hills. The chauffeur briefs the swap on the morning. No surprise.

The rain plan does not fail in normal Adelaide wet weather. The exception is a Mount Lofty Summit closure event (heavy snow, severe thunderstorm with road closures, road safety alert from SA Police), and if the venue itself becomes inaccessible the chauffeur coordinates with the venue and the wedding planner on the alternative while the wedding-day insurance and the venue's force-majeure clause come into play. Rare event. Genuinely rare.

Limo Hire Adelaide has not experienced a full rain-plan failure. Not once. We have made vehicle swaps on the morning multiple times, run wet-weather portrait sessions at indoor backup locations, and adjusted the timing for a delayed ceremony start. The booking continues; the photographer and the wedding planner adapt. Day runs.

The standard wet-weather kit in the chauffeur's vehicle includes a large golf umbrella, microfibre towels for cleaning rain spots off the paint before photos, and a spare set of white ribbons in case the morning's set gets soaked. Cheap insurance.

The chauffeur is one part of the wedding-day team. The photographer, the venue coordinator, the florist, and the wedding planner all play their parts in the rain-day adjustment. The chauffeur's role is to brief the contingency early, bring the right vehicle, and stay calm through the day.
